Bassett Breasties was created from a simple belief: every parent deserves access to local, compassionate breastfeeding support.
Our free drop-in sessions are about so much more than breastfeeding. They're about creating a safe, welcoming space where parents can ask questions, build confidence, share experiences and realise they don't have to navigate their journey alone.
Whether you're expecting your first baby, breastfeeding, expressing, combination feeding or simply looking for reassurance, you'll always be greeted with kindness, understanding and a warm welcome.
The idea for Bassett Breasties came from my own experience after my daughter was born in 2022.
Like many new parents, breastfeeding didn't come easily. Following a caesarean birth, I wasn't able to drive during those early weeks and quickly realised there was no breastfeeding support available in Royal Wootton Bassett.
Although support groups existed in neighbouring towns, getting there felt overwhelming. I was fortunate that my husband was able to take additional time off work to drive us, but I couldn't stop thinking about the families who didn't have that support or simply couldn't travel.
I remember asking myself:
"Why doesn't my own town have somewhere I can simply walk to?"
That question stayed with me.
After speaking with other local parents, it became clear that I wasn't alone. Many had faced similar challenges, and there was a real need for accessible, local support within our community.
Wanting to help other families, I trained as an Association of Breastfeeding Mothers (ABM) Peer Supporter, gaining the knowledge and confidence to support parents on their own feeding journeys.
In October 2025, Bassett Breasties opened its doors.
Since then, we've welcomed families from across Royal Wootton Bassett and the surrounding areas, providing a friendly, judgement-free space where parents can ask questions, share experiences and receive encouragement at every stage of their journey.
Just support whenever you need it.
Although breastfeeding is at the heart of what we do, Bassett Breasties is really about people.
It's about helping parents feel less isolated.
It's about celebrating the little victories.
It's about building confidence during one of life's biggest transitions.
It's about making friendships that continue long after feeding journeys have ended.
Some parents come with questions.
Others come simply for a cup of tea and a chat.
Many return because they've found a community where they feel understood.
That's exactly what Bassett Breasties was created to be.
Our sessions are open to anyone who would benefit from breastfeeding support, including:
