Meet Sophia

Hello, I'm Sophia

I'm so pleased you've found Bassett Breasties.

I'm a mum, the founder of Bassett Breasties and a trained Association of Breastfeeding Mothers (ABM) Peer Supporter. More than anything, I'm passionate about making sure parents have somewhere local where they feel welcomed, supported and never alone.

Whether you arrive full of questions or simply looking for a friendly face and a cuppa, you'll always receive a warm welcome.

Why I Started Bassett Breasties

Bassett Breasties was born from my own experience after becoming a mum in 2022.

Breastfeeding wasn't always straightforward, and following a caesarean birth I wasn't able to drive during those precious early weeks. Although breastfeeding support was available in neighbouring towns, getting there felt incredibly difficult and often relied on my husband taking additional time off work to drive us.

I remember thinking how wonderful it would be to have somewhere local that parents could simply walk to.

After speaking with other families, I realised many had experienced the same challenges.

That simple idea became Bassett Breasties.

Today, it's a place where parents can find encouragement, reassurance, friendship and support—right here in Royal Wootton Bassett.

Supporting Families

In 2024, I completed my training as an Association of Breastfeeding Mothers (ABM) Peer Supporter.

While I'm not a medical professional, my role is to provide evidence-based information, practical support, a listening ear and signpost families to additional help whenever needed.

Every family's journey is unique, and I'm here to support you without judgement, whatever that journey looks like.

A Little About Me

Outside of Bassett Breasties, I also run Little Lion Markets,  helping local families buy and sell quality preloved baby and children's items.

I'm the author of children's colouring books and journals, and I love creating projects that bring people together, support families and strengthen our local community.

Everything I do is guided by the same belief:

Small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

A Few Fun Facts About Me

  • I'm happiest with a full fat coke in my hand.
  • I have a much-loved Cockapoo who keeps our family entertained.
  • I love creating children's books and finding new ways to inspire little imaginations.
  • I've been interviewed on BBC Radio Wiltshire about Bassett Breasties and Little Lion Markets, with just a few hours sleep.
  • I was honoured to be named one of the Most Inspiring Women in Swindon & Wiltshire 2026.
  • I love bringing people together and watching new friendships grow.

What You Can Expect

When you visit Bassett Breasties, you'll never be expected to have all the answers.

There's no pressure.

No judgement.

No question is too small.

Whether your baby feeds throughout the session, cries the whole time, or sleeps peacefully in your arms, you'll be welcomed exactly as you are.

Sometimes parents come with a long list of questions.

Sometimes they just need a chat.

Both are equally important.

I Can't Wait to Meet You

If you've been wondering whether to come along, I'd love to encourage you to take that first step.

Our sessions are relaxed, friendly and completely free to attend.

Whether you stay for ten minutes or the whole afternoon, you'll always find a warm welcome waiting for you.

I hope to meet you soon.
